Ministries of Worship

Altar Care/Church Cleaning:  Contact Beth Cressey
Anyone who would like to help care for the Sanctuary and Sacristy is welcome to participate in this ministry.

Altar Servers: Contact Susie Adams
Boys and girls are trained at the end of their 5th grade year for assisting our Priests during Mass.

Cantors: Contact Susie Adams
These vocalists assist the assembly in our hymn and acclamation singing. Each cantor brings a different level of vocal ability, but understands the function of cantor and is trained to help lead the community in sung prayer. Monthly training sessions are required.

Church Art and Environment: Contact Susie Adams
Parishioners provide attractive decor for all seasons of the Church year, including care of live plants.

Choir: Contact Susie Adams
This group of vocalists sings primarily at 10:00 a.m. Sunday Liturgy, but may rotate occasionally to other Liturgies. The choir generally rehearses once a week on Tuesday evenings. Members come with a variety of musical backgrounds, from those who have no formal training to those with Masters Degrees in Music.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion:

Contact Susie Adams
These ministers distribute the Body of Christ and the Precious Blood at Liturgy, after they have received Diocesan training and commissioning. Eucharist Ministers for the sick visit and distribute communion to the homebound and to nursing-home residents each weekend.

Gift Bearers: Contact Susie Adams
Families and groups of parishioners bring forward the gifts of bread and wine and our contributions for the church and for the poor, during our weekend Eucharistic Celebrations.

Greeters: Contact Susie Adams
These volunteers help create an environment that fosters a sense of belonging by welcoming each member to Sunday worship. Membership is open to interested parishioners who would welcome people with a sense of reverence and friendliness.

Instrumental/Ensembles: Contact Susie Adams
These musicians serve the parish with their talents as instrumentalists. We are very open to integrating different instruments into our Liturgies, and we have a variety of musical styles, from traditional to contemporary.

Lectors: Contact Susie Adams
Parishioners proclaim the Word of God at Liturgies. The Diocese provides training several times during the year.

Ushers: Contact Susie Adams
Men or women (age 14 years and up) work in teams to ready the church for Liturgy and gather the collection. Cordiality and service are major qualifications for this ministry. Every weekend Liturgy is in need of additional ushers, especially people willing to be substitutes.
