Job clubs associated with various churches have been around the metro area for several years. Recently they have become exceptionally well attended. Most of them are in Johnson County; only a couple are in the south town area. St Elizabeth recognizes the need for one here.
The Job Club will meet the third Thursday of every month,
7-9pm in the church basement (Seton Hall).
Off-street parking is behind the church, which is located @ 75th & Main Street.
Our Job Club will be for anyone who is:
• Out of work and looking for a job.
• A stay-at-home parent wanting to get back into the workforce.
• Currently working but looking for a new opportunity.
• Wanting to work part time.
• Currently working, not looking, but wanting to help.
• Retired and wanting to help.
Our Job Club will provide a forum for these folks to come together and support each other in various ways by providing:
• Formal networking opportunities.
• Resource awareness.
• Tips and techniques.
• Experience sharing.
Our Job Club will NOT provide:
• Formal counseling.
• Financial assistance.
• Job placement services.
• “Gripe” sessions.
The St Elizabeth Job Club will welcome ALL from anywhere in the community regardless of religious affiliation, age or status; laborers to engineers, secretaries to CEOs. Come to one meeting or all. No dues, no commitment.
If you have questions call Doug Kinney, Job Club facilitator, at 816-822-9297.
Please help spread the word.
