2st Annual (& Waldo's First) BBQ Tournament
Overview
We are planning on a great weekend of Family, Friendship, Music and BBQ. The Waldo Community is welcome to come and enjoy the sweet smell of BBQ, and enjoy the festivities. This is a parish BBQ and is not open to the general public to compete in the tournament, so each team must have a St. Elizabeth parishioner. We are expecting 20+ competing Teams depending on the size of spaces. Sign up will start August 5th at 11:30 in Seton hall. Space is very limited! First come first serve.

• Friday, check in for teams will be staged with the 5:00, 5:30, & 6:00 check-in (registered teams will get their check-in time and other details in the mail early September).

• Friday night each team is welcome to host a party in their tent, cook up some snacks and maybe a little friendly competition on who has the best party food. If you are not competing you are welcome to come up and check out the tents, & see your friends between 7pm and 11pm. Beverages will be available for a donation. We will have an adult atmosphere Friday evening so 7pm-11pm, so Friday night will remain kid free. After 11pm everyone but cooks need to be off grounds.

• Saturday is serious cooking, and many of the teams will have been cooking for hours overnight. The grounds open to the public at noon with fun and so much room for activities and playgrounds for the kids. The Knights of Columbus will be grilling hot dogs and brats, Noon-2pm, so you're welcome to bring a blanket or folding chairs to set up a picnic in the garden and feed the family. Adult and children's beverages will be available for a donation 12pm - 10pm.

• Competition turn-ins of meat to judges will start 4pm - 5:30, and Awards will be at 6:45pm.

• 7:30pm - 10pm a band will perform as we celebrate a great weekend.

• We are encouraging a family atmosphere during the day Saturday and an adult atmosphere by Saturday evening. Children will need to go home by 6pm.

• There will be no drinkin out of glass, please cans or plastic cups only!

 

Highlights:

This year's contest will include 4 meats categories; ribs, pork (butt or tenderloin), chicken and brisket. Teams will prepare their entries to be judged. They have to turn in all 4 to be in the running for Grand Champion.
